Your Psychologist

Alex completed a Bachelor's degree at the University of Western Australia in 1975 and her Masters in Clinical Psychology at Curtin University in 1994.  She has over 35 years experience in the workforce and has worked in a variety of  workplace settings, including the government and private sectors.

For over 15 years Alex managed the Employee Assistance Programme at a large oil and gas company in Perth, which had worksites in Australian city and regional areas, remote offshore facilities and overseas locations.  She, and her staff, dealt with "the full catastrophe" of issues for employees and their families.  As well they supported the larger organisation in its handling of the psychological impact of accidents and emergencies, relocation of families, fly-in-fly-out issues, change and stress in the workplace, shiftwork and fatigue, and culture shock for employees on overseas assignment.

Alex has been working with individuals at this private practice since 1994.  Her work in the private practice now focuses on adults.  She has particular interest and experience in the areas of anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, loss and bereavement, and workplace stress.

Alex continues to provide workshops to a wide range of organisations, both government and private, on topics including stress management, managing change in the workplace, peer support in the workplace, and general information sessions on topics such as depression and anxiety.
